Loud snoring inevitably leads to you or your partner sleeping in another room. This is bad for the relationship in the long run and could be changed if you did something about your snoring problem. Here are a few home remedies for snoring that might help you out. To be frank some of them are a little off the wall and it is debatable whether they would be successful. But that’s the beauty of it, I guess, everyone is different and might find a use for them.

A friend of mine learned to stop snoring by changing his sleeping position. He went from sleeping on his back to sleeping on his side. Apparently this worked and stopped his snoring. One strange home remedy that might help you to do this is to sleep with a golf or tennis ball (or any uncomfortable implement to be honest). Place the tennis ball onto the back of the snorer around the shoulder blade area. This will stop the person sleeping on their back in theory, but it may also cause them to wake up because they are uncomfortable or throw the ball out the window with frustration. I guess the takeaway from this remedy is to try to work out a way to stop sleeping on your back.

The main cause of snoring is blocked airways of the mouth, nose and throat. One way that might prevent this occurring is to burn some incense before you go to sleep or use aromatherapy to keep your airways open. Eucalyptus oil in a diffuser can create a sleeping environment that can help the body breath easy and alleviate nasal congestion. Other people suggest rubbing a little vapor rub on the chest just before you go to sleep. This has the same effect as using aromatherapy.
