What Is Sleep Quality On Baby?
Posted by admin in Prescription Sleep Medicine on June 03rd, 2009
Naturally, sleep-starved parents would like nothing more than for babies to adopt adult sleep patterns immediately after birth, but this, I am afraid, is impossible. Being the parent of a newborn child necessarily means incurring a sleep deficit for a few months. There is good news, however.
As the adult, you have the power to be flexible. For instance, you can win yourself some valuable sleep time by learning to sleep when the baby sleeps. After all, the newborn will have a total of sixteen to twenty hours of sleep in a twenty-four-hour day. You may be able to create a schedule that will allow you to get your eight hours of sleep some where within the many periods that your baby is asleep.
Of course, you can look forward to the time when your baby will reach the stage of growth and development when she will want to spend less of her daytime asleep, and more time exploring her environment, learning what her body and mind can do. Not surprisingly, a baby’s sleep patterns are matched by unique biological markers. At three months of age, babies develop a twenty-four-hour sleep/wakefulness cycle that parallels the development of the daily pattern in adrenocortical brain activity.
This does not mean, however, that babies will then sleep like adults. The older the baby gets, the stronger the early morning peak in the levels of the hormone cortisol. Once the rhythm of the surges of cortisol begins to mimic the pattern seen in adult biological rhythms, babies will usually begin to sleep through the night. Yet, even after that, a baby’s sleep patterns still do not resemble those of an adult. Your baby will merely have moved to the next stage of sleep evolution.
I am afraid that there is nothing you can do to speed up this process. Just enjoy your baby for who he is. Babies do not start to sleep through the night in earnest until well after the third month of life, and, even then, they may wake up periodically for comforting. Babies may sleep through some nights but awaken periodically other nights. Only after about six months do most babies sleep through most nights. There is much variation in this development, so do not worry if your baby takes a longer or shorter amount of time to reach this stage.

Children Sleep Pattern
Posted by admin in Prescription Sleep Medicine on June 03rd, 2009
By about two years of age, children will sleep approximately half of a twenty-four-hour period. This feat is accomplished by naps in the morning and in the afternoon, in addition to nighttime sleep periods. There after, they slowly graduate to a pattern of sleeping in ten-hour stretches during the night without sleeping during the day.
This pattern generally holds until puberty Because they get so much sleep, children are usually filled with energy during the day They are bright and exuberant. In children, sleep is marked by an increase in hormonal activity For instance, in both boys and girls, sleep is connected with a significant rise in prolactin levels. This process occurs very early in childhood, including children as young as one year.
Prolactin is a peptide hormone secreted by the lactotroph of the anterior pituitary gland in the brain. It is essential for the production of milk in nursing mothers, but it is also released in large quantities into the blood stream of males, non-nursing adult females, and children. Prolactin secretion is induced by sleep, stress, sexual activity and, in women, the suckling stimulus. Someday we may better understand the many roles that this interesting hormone plays.
Even though the brains of both males and females produce prolactin, there remain various gender-based differences in the activity of prolactin during sleep. In normal, well-nourished children, the primary “sleep problem” seems to be a reluctance to go to bed. Although this is not a genuine medical problem, parents usually consider it as such because it can vex them. When children get tired, they can become cranky, less attentive, and careless.
At the same time, they can become more active. Nervous energy propels them to new heights of frenzied activity ironically, most children in this state vehemently deny that they are tired. Usually, however, resistance to bedtime is not the child’s fault, instead, I think it is usually due to a parent’s failure to establish positive bedtime ritual.
Child Sleep Solution provide safe, easy and effective sleep enhancement for parent don’t wish to frequently feeding or rocking your children back to sleep during the every night. And this is frustrating to end the day with battles over your child’s bedtime.

The Fastest Snoring Treatment
Posted by admin in Prescription Sleep Medicine on June 03rd, 2009
I want to share with you the fastest snoring treatment that is available on the market. I think the main reason that people haven’t fixed this problem is that they really don’t know any of the solutions. Most of the other problems people have had things that they have a general idea on how to solve, but when it comes to snoring most people don’t have a clue. Most people aren’t taught this in school or by their parents, so it is really hard to fix it when you’re ignorant. That’s what I want to help you out and give you the knowledge you need by sharing the fastest snoring treatment.
The reason that you snore is a constriction in your throat. This constriction happens only when you’re asleep which is due to something you may not be aware of; your jaw. It is actually the position of your jaw that leads to a constriction in your throat. If you don’t remember high school physics, a constriction in the throat will lead to air traveling at a much faster speed. It is this increase in speed that causes a more intense type of vibration and the sounds that you hear.
The fastest snoring treatment that you can get is known as a snoring head band. It’s a very simple cloth like device that wraps around church and in the top of your head. It is designed to hold up your jaw as you sleep. When your jaw is up, it causes your throat to open up and fix your snoring problem.
