5 Tips to Help You Manage Snoring

If you just can’t take it anymore, the sound of your own snoring, or the ritual kicking, pinching, shoving and being told to “Roll Over” and “SHHHSH”; or should y ou have the misfortune of struggling to get a good night sleep because e next to someone who snores, then these five tips may benefit you greatly.
Snoring can have a huge impact on your life and the relationships in it. It also presents significant health issues. These five tips on snoring treatments are a good place to start reducing the effect it has on your life.
TIP #1- Make some sleeping position adjustments.
Sleep on you side or front. This can be challenging as it’s hard to control your sleeping position when you are asleep! However, an old trick reportedly works quite well. By sewing a walnut, table tennis ball or similar size object into the back of a shirt you condition yourself not to roll over in the night. To do so hurts. This works much the same as a spouse elbowing you and can be quite effective if you don’t remove your shirt in the middle of the night.
TIP #2 - Make some dietary adjustments.
Although this will likely not ever cure all the problem, it is a good place to start making changes. What you’re eating and drinking affect this condition because certain intolerances to food cause reactions in the body. For example, if you have an intolerance to dairy produce you tend to produce a lot of mucus, while lying down this collects and blocks breathing passages causing heavy breathing and subsequent snoring. Alcohol can be a major factor too as it relaxes the muscles too much which triggers snoring…limit intake or eliminate all together.
TIP #3 - Try nasal strips.
These can be quite effective and work by applying pressure at the bridge of the nose thus opening the air passage allowing freer breathing. It is a band-aid solution however and doesn’t address underlying health issues should there be any.
TIP #4 - Reduce your weight.Carrying extra pounds another can be another contributing factor. Excess weight in the neck and chest will put undo pressure on the breathing passage.
TIP #5 - Exercises. Saving the best for last. Breathing exercises in combination with exercising the muscles in the throat and tongue have been known to completely cure snoring for some people.
Stop Snoring Exercises to Stop Snoring Fast

Stop snoring exercises are the simplest method to fix your snoring. Some people think the idea of exercises is silly, but no quit snoring method is guaranteed to work, and stop snoring exercises are by far the easiest method for you to try!
After all, you can always try buying some expensive product if stop snoring exercises don’t work for you. On the other hand, if you spend your money first (and it might not even work) you will feel stupid if these incredibly easy solutions could have worked for free.
Try these exercises every day, or more than once a day if possible:
1. Smile! Hold an exaggerated smile for 5-10 seconds, and then relax. Do this 5 times.
2. Pucker up to blow a kiss, and hold this position for 5-10 seconds. Do this 5 times.
3. Press your lips together hard for 5-10 seconds. Do this 5 times.
4. Hold your mouth open as wide as you can in a yawning position for 10-15 seconds. Do this 5 times.
5. Push your tongue out of your mouth as far as you can. Hold it to the left, right, top, and bottom for 5 seconds each. Do this 5 times.
6. Push your tongue down on the bottom of your mouth for 15-20 seconds. Do this 5 times.
7. Use a finger or spoon or fork to push up or down on your tongue (while in your mouth), and resist the pressure with your tongue for 5-10 seconds. Do this 5 times.
8. Put pressure against your chin pushing backwards, and resist this pressure with your jaw muscles for 10-15 seconds. Do this 5 times.

Find Your Cure to Snoring

Is snoring disrupting your sleep? Are you exhausted during the day from being woken up at night? Does snoring disrupt your relationship with your spouse?
There are millions of people with the same problem as you, and it can be cured!
To find your cure to snoring, it is important to understand what is causing your individual case of snoring. Several things can contribute to snoring, and some are easier to work with than others.
Snoring is caused by the narrowing or obstruction of the airways in your throat or nose. This can either be due to your posture when you sleep, or physical conditions existing inside your airways.
If you sleep on your back or in tight, contorted positions, most likely your problem is in your posture. Many people find that special pillows or pads can help them cure this problem. An old technique involves pinning or sowing a tennis ball or small object to the back of a shirt that you wear to bed. When you sleep, this object will not allow you to sleep comfortably on your back, thus training yourself to sleep on your side.
If you are overweight, or consume alcohol regularly, this can also add to your problem. Both of these add to the relaxation of fatty tissue lining your throat.
There are also dental devices/mouthpieces designed to position your mouth and tongue to prevent snoring, in addition to throat sprays designed to dampen the vibration of tissue in your throat.
Two more serious solutions are Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machines (CPAP) and surgery.
CPAP machines use a mask that you wear over your mouth while sleeping. They provide slight, constant air pressure through your airways in order to keep them from contracting. While these are a highly effective cure to snoring they need to be used for your entire life to maintain the solution.
Surgery is an option as the cure to snoring in the most severe cases, but can be expensive and dangerous. See your physician if you think this is necessary for you.
Snoring can also be an indicator of a much more serious condition called sleep apnea. People with sleep apnea stop breathing for brief intervals during the night, and their body awakens them in order to regain breath. People with sleep apnea suffer from extreme sleep deprivation, and it can be deadly!
